Rescue Work
Procyon Training is immensely proud of our collaborative relationship with the Humane Society of Marion County. Together, we’ve embarked on a transformative journey to better the lives of countless pets and the families that welcome them. Recognizing the potential in every animal, we work hand-in-hand to assess and devise tailored training or behavioral modification plans for dogs and cats that have been flagged by the dedicated staff or vigilant volunteers.
This collaboration isn’t just about training—it’s about ensuring that every animal has its best chance at finding a loving, forever home. Our approaches are rooted in deep respect and understanding, taking inspiration from the esteemed works of Dr. Karen Overall, Leslie McDevitt, and Michael Shikashio. Their methodologies form the foundation upon which we build, tweak, and perfect our behavior modification programs and protocols.
Our partnership’s success is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Humane Society staff and our brilliant Training Team, brimming with devoted volunteers. Together, we’re proving that with the right care, guidance, and a sprinkle of patience, every pet can find its perfect match and thrive in its new home.
F.I.D.O. Project
Procyon Training significantly contributes to the FIDO (Florida Inmates and Dog Obedience) program, where Stephanie Roberts educates Florida inmates in dog training. Collaborating with Marion County Animal Services, this 8-week program equips inmates with skills to train dogs, enhancing their adoptability. The goal is to find forever homes for these dogs by the program's end, creating a positive impact both on the lives of the inmates and the dogs.
